Family Life Education/HOMEFRONT
(Project of The Family ConservancySM)
HOMEFRONT is a collaborative initiative which consists of more than 45 organizations throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area working together to create resources for parents and caregivers. HOMEFRONT’s parenting campaign strives to create a community where all adults are actively and effectively engaged in the lives of our children.
Initiatives of HOMEFRONT include:
Kansas City BrainChild:
A campaign designed to educate parents, professionals, policy makers and caregivers
about brain development in children and how positive parenting and early education
play a vital role in the social, emotional and intellectual growth of children.
Warmline: 913-371-HOME (4663)
A phone line designed to assist in answering parent and caregiver’s questions
concerning child-related issues. The Family ConservancySM utilizes
its own extensive resources, as well as those of HOMEFRONT partners, to provide
answers that enable callers to strengthen their adult-child relationships.
ACT-Adults and Children Together-Against Violence:
A program designed by the American Psychological Association and the National Association for the Education of Young Children to teach violence prevention. It focuses on the importance of early prevention by offering knowledge and skills to professionals who work with families and children, and who play important roles in preventing the development of aggressive behaviors in young children.
