Background Checks
Parents are strongly encouraged to visit child care programs, ask for references and check
with the state regulatory agencies to find out if the program they are considering has a history of
complaints or concerns and also consider if there are any serious and/or ongoing rule violations.
The process to perform a background check varies with each state.
