What is inclusive child care?
Inclusion means serving children with disabilities together with their typically developing peers. Inclusive programs provide quality care to all children and provide lessons of acceptance of each other for our individual strengths and needs.
The ADA states that enrollment policies and procedures should not intentionally – or unintentionally – exclude children with disabilities. Using criteria that screens out children with disabilities would be considered a violation of the law. See http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/adahom1.htm for more information.
