The Family ConservancySM
We are striving to improve our training services to you and are committed to quality
adult education for your professional development. Our trainers make every effort
to bring you current, quality trainings, to help you in your continuing education
on caring for young children. The following guidelines and procedures are based
on feedback from our early education partners, early education providers and The
Family ConservancySM staff.
- Pre-Registration: Pre-registration is by mail only. We will require payment
at the time of registration to ensure you are enrolled and there are enough
registered for the class to take place. NO phone-in registrations (except
for free trainings and credit card payments) will be accepted. We will accept
fax purchase orders from child care centers.
- If you need to cancel: There are times when you may not be able to attend
a training. If you call and cancel by noon, one business day before the training,
a coupon will be issued to you or the class fee will be transferred to another
training for you. There will be no refunds for no-shows or late cancellations.
Cancel by calling Stacy at 913-342-1110 or, outside the Metro Area, 1-800-755-0838,
ext. 112.
- Walk-Ins: If room is available, walk-ins are welcome, but will be charged
an additional $5 fee. If the training is full, walk-ins will be allowed to
take the place of a “no-show” 15 minutes after the training has begun. Feel
free to call Stacy to see if space is available for a specific training.
- Late Participants: To be respectful of your time, we will begin and end
training sessions on time. Participants arriving more than 15 minutes late
miss part of the workshop as well as distract the other members of the group.
Therefore, classes will close after 15 minutes. Money will not be refunded
for late participants. Certificates of attendance may reflect the actual
hours you have attended the training.
- Cancellation of a class: Canceling a training may be necessary due to
low registration numbers; however, your pre-registration will help us know
the class size. The decision to cancel a training will be made no later
than the last working day before the training, except in cases of inclement
weather. Those pre-registered will be notified of the cancellation. You
can also call the cancellation number below.
- Benefits for Participants: Participants will receive a certificate at
the end of the training indicating the core competency, level and CDA subject
area of the class. Most trainings will have snacks and drinks for participants.
You will also have the chance to win door-prizes at most trainings! Another
benefit of attending our trainings is meeting and connecting with other
professionals in our field. Most importantly, we hope you receive information
to help you increase your knowledge of caring for young children.
- Other Policies: We ask that no children attend the trainings. We do not
provide child care for participants. We also ask that all cell phones and
pagers be turned off or to silent during the trainings, and to wait to make
phone calls during scheduled breaks.
Training Cancellation Hotline Number
We have created a way for you to call for information regarding a workshop that
you are planning on attending. This phone line will provide you the opportunity
to get inclement weather or other cancellation information by making one phone
call, which can be accessed 24 hours a day. The phone number is 913-342-2948
locally or 1-800-755-0838 outside the Metro Area. Simply follow the phone prompts
as directed.
