Through a contract with the Kansas State Department of Education, The Family ConservancySM
is sponsoring agencies for the Child and Adult Food Program. The Child and Adult
Food Program (CACFP) enables family child care providers to earn additional income
by assuring that meals they serve to children meet the U.S. Department of Agriculture
(USDA) nutritional requirements.
To participate, family child care providers must be licensed or registered, and care for at least one child other
than their own. There is no cost or membership fee to participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
Participants in The Family Conservancy food program receive complete nutrition
and meal planning information, plus creative time-saving ideas. A nutrition specialist
will visit your home a minimum of three times a year to provide on-site training
and support. You’ll also be alerted to nutrition workshops scheduled throughout
the year.
